Solution builder and systems architect with 6+ years designing and shipping complete platforms: monoliths to microservices, backend to frontend to mobile. My greatest pride is seeing what I build in use, helping businesses, clinicians, students and communities every day.
I'm Daniel Maina Waweru, a full-stack software engineer and systems architect from Kenya. I start with the problem, not the tech stack: who it's for, what it must do, and how it needs to grow. Then I design the architecture and build every layer of it.
That has meant modular monoliths that get products to market fast and microservices that carry them to scale, secure payment flows on M-Pesa and Stripe, and AI that answers from real data. What I'm proudest of isn't the code. It's that these systems are in use today, solving real problems for real people.
The platforms I built at Clinifix, WeMove and Kenoobi Group are live and now in maintenance, so I'm available for a new role to architect and ship the next one.

Exam-prep platform helping nurses pass OET, IELTS and NCLEX. Every answer is explained, and AI drafts new questions grounded in course notes through a pgvector RAG pipeline, with human review before publishing.
Healthcare platform connecting verified professionals with facilities across Kenya. I led its architecture end to end: microservices on Node.js and PHP, M-Pesa and banking payment flows and AES-256 encryption for patient data. Now maintaining it.
Team step-challenge platform used by 1,500+ companies. I built and launched the React Native app on the App Store and Google Play (4.5+ stars), plus Next.js web apps, Stripe subscriptions and Node.js APIs. Now maintaining them.
AI shop assistant that answers from a store's own documents and takes payment inside the chat via M-Pesa STK push or Stripe. Prices are always recalculated server-side, never trusted from the model.
Impact dashboard for KIFFWA, empowering Kenya's water sector: water sold, electricity supplied and CO₂ reduction over time. As consultant I owned it end to end, from design and architecture to delivery.
